About the report

This report provides information on the operation of the Product Stewardship Arrangements for Waste Oil during 2000-01, the first year of the program. The arrangements commenced operation on 1 January 2001, hence the report essentially covers the six month period from 1 January 2001 to 30 June 2001.

The total program allocation from the Commonwealth for 2000-01 was $14.9 million, including a $12.4 million provision for benefit payments, and $2.5 million in transitional assistance funding. Actual expenditure was $4.0 million ($2.7 million in benefits and $1.3 million transitional assistance). This was offset by revenue collected under the product stewardship (oil) levy.
