  1. The Excise Tariff Amendment Bill (No. 1) 2002, and Customs Tariff Amendment Bill (No. 2) 2002 were introduced in the House of Representatives on 22 August 2002.
  2. On 1 August 2002 the levy was indexed again, to 5.449 cents per litre.
  3. This proposal is contained in the Excise Tariff Amendment Bill (No. 1) 2002 and Customs Tariff Amendment Bill (No. 2) 2002 which were introduced in the House of Representatives on 22 August 2002. Should these Bills be passed by Parliament prior to February 2003, the PSO levy will remain at its current level of 5.449 cents per litre.
  4. Waste oil inputs are greater than waste oil product outputs as some waste oil is lost through the various manufacturing processes. Therefore, more than 194 million litres of waste oil was actually collected and recycled during 2001-02.
  5. In October 2002, $8.5m was rephased from 2001-02 to 2005-06, creating a sixth year for the program.
